Recruitment for Constable Posts in J&K Police, Home Department

The Jammu & Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) has received an indent from the Home Department to fill vacancies through direct recruitment. Eligible candidates are invited to participate in the selection process for the following positions:

The terms and conditions with regard to eligibility, educational qualification, domicile, reservation, physical standards, etc., for participating in the selection process are detailed below:

• Appointment of Candidates: The appointment and other service conditions will be governed as per extant rules/regulations.
• Domicile: Candidates must be domiciles of the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir and possess a valid Domicile Certificate issued by the competent authority on or before the cut-off date of 20.08.2024, unless extended.

Physical Standards Test for Constable Exam 2024

Physical Standard Test (PST)

For Males:

• Height: 5'6" (minimum)
• Chest Girth (Unexpanded): 32"
• Chest Girth (Expanded): 33 ½"

For Females:

• Height: 5'2" (minimum)

Relaxation in Physical Standard:

• For candidates belonging to the Gorkha Community and Bot Tribe, the minimum height shall be relaxable by 2".

Physical Endurance Test (PET)

For Male Candidates:

• Long Race: 1600 meters in 6 ½ minutes (six minutes thirty seconds)
• Pushups: 20 (one cycle of up and down to be counted as one)

For Female Candidates:

• Long Race: 1000 meters in 6 ½ minutes (six minutes thirty seconds)
• Shot Put (4 Kgs): 14 ½ feet in three attempts
